    L.A. County Quint 104, 2013 KME 100' TDA quint.

Posted by Martin MacKinnon on 15th Aug 2026

I recently received L.A. County Quint 104, my 3rd TDA (Tractor Drawn Aerial) from Fire Replicas. All 3 are different, with different configurations & different manufacturers. I have: FDNY Ladder Company 106, which is a pretty standard Seagrave 100' TDA, Columbus Ladder 13, which has a 110' LTI "stick" & tandem rear axles on an ALF cab, & now L.A. County Quint 104, which has a 2000 GPM pump & a 300 gallon water tank, in addition to its 100' aerial ladder on a KME TDA. L.A. County Quint 104 has an impressive amount of firefighting capability packed into a single rig. The model includes wooden ground ladders, which are characteristic of Los Angeles area fire trucks. I chose Quint 104, since I already have Engine 76, which is just across the I-5 from Quint 104, in the Santa Clarita area. So, I would imagine that the 2 fire companies would work together on a frequent basis. The details, down to the tiniest ones, are what really set Fire Replicas models apart. I should be getting blasé about the quality of the paint applications, but I'm still amazed. Especially when it comes to the alternating red & yellow chevrons on the back of newer rigs.
