This FDNY Rescue 1 scale model is a museum grade replica of the 1996 HME/Saulsbury Heavy Rescue. Like all Fire Replicas models, every detail is modeled to perfection and with razor sharp precision. The replica features the specific department configuration and graphics, leaving no detail overlooked. The display case is custom manufactured with high quality acrylic and resin. The stainless steel etched plate features the department and truck name, and department seal. This replica is a treasure to be displayed and admired and is in no way a toy.

    FDNY R1, 1996 HME/Saulsbury rescue.

    When I received my new Fire Replicas model of the 1996 HME/Saulsbury rig, I compared it to the 2007 Pierce Arrow XT version. I was surprised. I thought that it would be a lot longer than the Pierce version. It is a wee bit longer & the wheelbase is slightly longer, which would increase the turning radius. However, the Pierce has a much longer body. Especially, behind the tandem rear axles. I have heard that the 4 door cab design was not a success, due to maneuverability issues associated with the length of the 5 rigs. So, the subsequent rigs went back to the 2 door cab design. As for the model itself, the usual incredible precision is evident, as usual. Even close scrutiny fails to reveal any flaws in replication, or execution. The tools at the front of the body on the driver's side & the semi rigid inflatable boat on the roof add interesting details to the model.

    Actually everything has already been described by my predecessors... a really absolutely great fire truck! “Heavy” Rescue actually describes it perfectly. A very impressive rescue vehicle with the usual attention to detail that we love! Thanks FR!!!

    This model deserves its description as being a "Heavy" Rescue Unit. Maybe not the most elegant model we've seen from FR but with the well-known details and quality. I once saw this unit in Manhatten in the late '90s and I was impressed by its size. The HME/Saulsbury was on my wishlist - and here it is. Looks great next to the other R1 units FR already released. The boat on top of the roof is making this model very special and unique.

    Having discovered FR this year and now owning a few models, I have to say every single vehicle is absolutely perfect and unique. I can only recommend it to everyone. I look forward to the next deliveries.

    I cannot give less than a five star rating for any Fire Replicas product! Outstanding model from the tie offs for the roof boat to the detail inside the cab. If your looking for a extraordinary model beyond that of any other diecast product look no further than Fire Replicas for the best of the best!

    This Rescue 1 model is absolutely EXCELLENT! The packaging was incredible and the model was very well protected with all the "popcorn" packaging completely surrounding it! The shipping was also very fast!
