FDNY E59, 1983 ALF.
Well, acquiring this model of FDNY E59 completes my set of American LaFrance (ALF) rigs produced by Fire Replicas for the FDNY. I now have 2 examples of the 1980 ALF pumpers: E36 & E65, which is the single yellow ALF pumper, out of 80 produced by American LaFrance for the FDNY in 1980. I have 2 of the 1982 ALF pumpers from 1982: E82 & Squad Co. 1, which has a different configuration from the rest of the 9 1982 models produced by ALF. I also have Maxi-Water Unit 207, the 1982 ALF/Saulsbury Satellite. So, a nice collection for a longstanding ALF fan. Although the 14 ALF pumpers from 1983 are very similar to the 1982 models, Fire Replicas has accurately replicated the differences, like the Crossfire warning light in the nose & the cab roof being all red. I have one minor quibble, though. The photo associated with this model shows the rig without the yellow: "59" on the nose & the yellow-rimmed running boards. Fire Replicas are renowned for their diligent attention to detail, so I have no doubt that this model is an accurate representation of FDNY E59 at some point during its service. However, a photo of E59 from the pertinent era would've been nice. As always, I am well pleased with this purchase & I'm looking forward to seeing what's next on the agenda.

FDNY 1983 American LaFrance Engine 59
Very detailed and flawless. Engine 59 has the Crossfire light. This release are longer than the 1980 American LaFrances. I like the bumper, cowl turn signals that are different from the '80s. This is the only one one in this release with a all red roof and the only 1983. The all red wheels are just simply nice. Great job Fire Replicas. I just can't address all the fine and different details on this model.
