FDNY 1947 Mack L Pumper Assembly Pictures

Vintage Mack L's from the late 40's had beautiful lines and so much character. FDNY's open cab Macks were no exception. Producing a replica of this beautiful rig that is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, is a painstaking process. Over 18 months, each of the hundreds of intricately detailed parts are designed, cast or fabricated, painted, decorated, and trimmed...then organized in small bins, ready for assembly. There is no substitute for the laborious tasks that each of the 35 skilled men and women perform. It is a sight to see as each team member patiently adheres each part to another, consistently analyzing the end result. As you scroll down the assembly pictures, take notice of the parts on each workstation and you will gain a greater appreciation for the process. And don't forget to add this vintage FDNY pumper to your collection.

    Great Product, Excellent Workmanship

Posted by Randy Potts on 28th Sep 2020

This model is a replica of the engine that started me on a career, so I am prejudice. The model is accurate, well built, and excellently scaled and painted. I thought, I caught the designers in an error, the Civil Defense emblem was not there. Well, I was wrong the emblem appeared after 1950. I saw this truck in action many times, though not this company. Where a lived this was the second due company. I thought of the subway straps, and the fond memories of them. The scaling is perfect, the painting remarkable. I look forward to any follow on units of this time frame, especially the Mack rescue, of the 50's, of NYFD fame. Thank you for such a great model.

    Winner!

Posted by Michael Quinn on 20th Sep 2020

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the FDNY Mack L is another winner from Fire Replicas. What continues to impress me about this company is how they manage to capture every line, curve and detail of the vintage rigs, often times just working from photos as the real rigs are long since gone. Keep up the great work Nic!

The detail is right on, the only thing that I noticed is that there missing the clutch, brake, and gas pedals since its an open cab truck and does have the floor shift lever.

Beautiful engine with excellent detail. Very blessed to have purchased one before they sold out. Considering purchasing Engine 225 for my collection before they sell out. The Mack L is a must for any FDNY collector. James Phillips

This is an outstanding model. You people have really done your homework on this model. I still have my fingers crossed for a Pirsch fire truck model from the 1950's. this would be a great model to bring out. John

    Another Home Run!

Posted by Edward Creem on 20th Sep 2020

Attention to detail is the hallmark of Fire Replicas and once again that attention to detail has resulted in an incredibly accurate reproduction of an FDNY rig. Unlike other fire model makers from the past who often came up with misses, Fire Replicas continues its unbroken string of HITS! My greatest disappointment is that I am not wealthy and therefore I must be selective in the Fire Replicas I purchase. Otherwise, there would be one of every model produced lining the shelves of my home museum.
