City of Los Angeles Fire Department 1967 Crown Firecoach/Holmes 850 Heavy Utility 27
My first "older Model, but also perfect and to complete the LAFD Station 27.

As good looking as the real thing.
This is the version that spent it last days in service at what is now the LAFD Museum, old Station 27. Sure looks good on display with its yellow version next to it. Got to have both of them, right?

L.A. City HU27, 1967 Crown/Holmes 850 Heavy Utility
Wow! What a great subject to base a replica on! And there's amazing accuracy in replicating the details. Unique & interesting details abound on this model. There's: the Crown cab in an elevated position, the Holmes wrecker mounted on a custom fire truck chassis, the super single tires on the rear tandem axles, the 2 red AND amber "bubble gum machine" rotating flashers on the cab roof, the vertical muffler & exhaust, "City" in cursive on the front of the cab, the intricate rigging of the wrecker arms, hose reels placed strategically around the body, the front bumper modified from its original configuration, multiple scene lights, red lower headlight lenses, etc. The yellow HU-6 was a tempting option. However, my favourite colour scheme is white over red. Also, I have actually been in L.A. City Station 27 in Hollywood, so that settled the issue.

LA City Crown/Holmes
I have been a big fan of the actual rig. When you advertised a model version, I jumped on it.

LAFD Heavy Utility 27 - A Class1 item
I got my first LAFD item from FR delivered yesterday. After some hesitation I decided to choose a white over red version and not the yellow HU6. Shipment was prompt as always and the item(s) perfectly protected in its box. This wrecker is rather small compared to modern trucks and engines but full of details carefully assembled down to the smallest details. We know this quality from FR. The Crown Firecoach is so cute that it quickly became my girlfriend's new favorite. A really very well done item which should not be missing in any collection.
