Miami-Dade Ladder 38, 2021 Sutphen Monarch 75' Quint.
Wow, what a cool model! The full sized Sutphen ladder trucks are very impressive, but I find the shorter Sutphen ladder trucks to be far more interesting, since they have to get more creative about shoehorning all the necessary equipment onto a smaller chassis. It looks like the ground ladders are being carried in Zico mounts & there's extra hose being carried in an unusual hose box atop the cabinets on the LHS. the tool box mounted on the ladder's RHS is a bit unusual, but becoming more common. Due to the lack of space, it's not surprising that an extended front bumper with a small hose bed has been added. Since this is the only firefighting rig assigned to Station 38, it'll be utilized as a dual purpose (pumper &/or ladder) rig more often than a full sized ladder, which would typically function in its primary role, even if it was a quint. I'm really happy to get this model, as I've been jonesing about it since it was announced. The "Brick House" unit insignia in the MIL (Mother-In-Law) windows is what made me choose this particular rig. I'll now be hearing the Commodores "Brick House" as an ear worm every time I admire this acquisition.
