History of 6-7-5 courtesy of Joe O'Brien - From 1976 until 2016 the Mack MB Turret Wagon responded to some of the biggest fires in the City of Chicago. This rig was the modern Big John which were both stationed at Engine 42’s. The rig was rugged and small enough to get into any area to apply large streams of water. It would respond “Citywide” on extra alarms.

When the new 1976 Mack MB deluge truck was being outfitted 675 was the next number for the High-Pressure Deluge’s. 671, 672, 673, and 674 were predecessors.

After 1982 the Deluge wagons now in service would be renumbered for the Division/District they were stationed in. 6-7-5 being at 42’s would become 6-7-1. The Mack was always in the 1st District moving to engine 104 and then engine 1’s.
The 1975 Chevy 4x4 deluge wagon that was 6-7-1 would become 6-7-5 and later 6-7-6.

6-7-1 Mack would be auctioned off in 2016 and was last seen in 2024 in a barn in Northern Illinois. This would have been the last of the higher-pressure Deluge guns used by CFD. The smaller units in service today are more around 2-4000 GPM rigs.

6-7-5 has a lot of great history it was the last large High Pressure Deluge. This will look great with my 6-7-3 Big John, and all of the classic CFD rigs. Fantastic job Fire Replicas, keeping history alive.
