History of Engine 60 courtesy of Joe O'Brien - Engine 60 was organized in 1891, in a brand new 2 story wood frame fire house in Hyde Park. In 1920 Engine 60 moved into Truck 37’s new house at 5439 S. Lake Park. In 1959 Engine 60 and truck 37 moved to Truck 16’s house and remained there 4 years until their new house at 1150 E. 55th was completed. Engine 60 has been serving Hyde Park 134 years.
